Happy Monday everyone. This is taking a while, isn’t it? When I started this daily update, I had promised it would self-destruct at the end of quarantine, but thankfully for everyone you can’t have too much of a good thing, so the end is nowhere in sight.
Today was a grey, rainy day in Milan, but apparently in Berlin it also snowed, so it could be worse. Or better, depending how one sees it, because when the weather is nice, people suddenly discover dogs that they have to take for a really long walk, or they rediscover their long lost love for jogging. In some unnamed places, not so far far away, people have been spotted taking various animals for walks, including sheep, pigs, and hens. These are likely to be the same type of people who would also have anti-social distancing barbecue parties with 10+ friends and relatives, and use their newfound pets as ingredients. Long story short, if you see someone taking a farm animal for a walk, be afraid. Be very afraid.
The day was spent normally, starting with a workout, continuing with work, and culminating in a remote pub quiz hosted by a creative friend. I hope the Wetherspoons owner is not reading this, but who needs a pub for a good pub quiz. All you need is average-quality alcohol (check), fun people (check), and bizarre questions (double check). Before the pandemic, people had always limited themselves to just a handful of activities that could replace physical interaction, as opposed to the real thing (Pornhub is capitalising on this as we speak), but every day that passes stands as glorious proof that this could be the future. I am secretly glad ‘do not touch’ is becoming an overall life principle, first and foremost because, when something gets forbidden, it feels so good when you get to do it.

I still remember my visit to Pergamonmuseum as if it was yesterday.
This is not so bad for a dystopian future: life is essentially becoming one big museum, and the mummies are our fashion icons, having already paved the path for all our future protective outfits (finally, all that toilet roll will be put to good use). And remember, under all the layers, there’s a queen waiting to be found.
Lunch: Borlotti beans with mackerel, asparagus, tomatoes, and onion (we need to go to the supermarket. It was very tasty though.)
Song of the day: U Can’t Touch This
